What Causes Red Bumps On Chest And Back?

I have been diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease and have had red bumps pop up on my chest and back. They do not really itch but if I do happen to scratch them they hurt. They are only on my chest, a couple on the upper part of my stomach and back. Any thoughts?
