What Causes Redness And Heat On One Side Of Face With Dry And Scaly Skin?
I am a 47 year old female. I have intense heat and redness only on one side of my face. It is not painful, but is hot to the touch. It happens intermittently and seems to have no trigger cause. Last Saturday it happened and lasted longer than it ever has, over 24 hours. The skin on that side of my face is now dry and scaly. Also, right now, I can feel it getting hot again. I have told my doctor about this, but he seems unconcerned even though I have shown him photos. Please help me, I m really worried.
Hi. As per your case history of dry skin on face, my treatment advice is - 1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30. 2. Apply an emollient cream like Enmoist cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, topical steroid cream given only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
