What Causes Redness And Itching Around The Face, Ears And Arms?

I was diagnosed with Early Pneumonia last Saturday at the Kaiser Center. About 3 hours ago, my face, ears, arms all became very red and itchy, and I was extremely hot and somewhat sweaty. Also, my breathing was labored. I wonder if the problem I am having is due to the effects of a new drug I m taking - NAPROXEN SODIUM - 550 MG. In the last couple of hours, fortunately, the problems have decreased measurably, but I am still be having a little trouble with breathing totally comfortably. Could it be the medication that is giving me these conditions? If so, can you recommend an alternative medication? Or should I go to the hospital? Thanks for your help, Melinda Erdberg

Thanks for writing to Healthcare magic.
I think what you were having was an allergic reaction.It would be for a new drug given to you to treat your pneumonia. In most of the cases it would be from an antibiotic sometimes from any of the painkiller like Naproxen. I would recommend that you meet your physician immediately before taking any medicines.
