What Causes Right Sided Pain And Swelling After Eating Meals?
Frequently I suffer from pain and swelling and discomfort in my right side after eating. I have been eating my meals lightly fried or baked with virgin coconut oil could this be a problem. I have had and MRI and X-Ray that shows nothing but it keeps coming back. What else should I ask my doctor to test me for? Saed
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of suffering from pain on the right side of the abdomen on eating food cooked in virgin coconut oil. MRI and X-ray are normal. Wants to know what should be tested ... The first thing you should do is to stop using virgin coconut oil and if the problem is solved, you need not do anything further. If there is no benefit of stopping coconut oil you should ask for the following: Tests of stool for three consecutive days. Tests of blood. Colonoscopy CT scan if needed as MRI has already been done and is not a good investigations for the bowels. If all anything specific is found out, get treated to get the relief, surgery if anything like appendicitis. If all the reports are normal this can be due to IBS - that is irritable bowel syndrome or intolerance to some food and beverages that you have to find out and stop accordingly; keep away the stress and anxiety if there is IBS and get treated accordingly.
