What Causes Severe Blood In Stools And Hiatal Hernia?

Hello there. Did an endoscopy today and have a small hiatal hernia and a biopsy was taken for abnormal mucosa of the stomach. My stomach appeared to be very red.
In addition, I was in the ER, three days ago with severe cramping from chronic constipation which led to rectal bleeding. The ER Dr. Did verify blood in my stool. is this all related, and regardless, what are the probable diagnosis and treatment?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
The red stomach, small hiatal hernia and blood in stool may not be related unless related to the stress and gastroenteritis.
Hence all the entities need different treatment.
I would advise you the following:
Get the stool tested and ask for colonoscopy to find the cause so that it can be treated accordingly.
Gastritis can be due to more acid production being in turn be due to food habits, smoking, alcohol, stress and so on and hence the cause should be found out so that a proper management can be done along with treatment with a PPI like Omeprazole, antacid and Domperidone if there is symptom of reflux.
Small hiatal hernia may not any active treatment at the moment unless causing any symptoms or biopsy shows any specific disease.
Also change the food habits and lifestyle to suit you the best and such problems be under control.
