I was eating breakfast and drinking ice water 4 days ago. I felt a sudden sharp pain and irritation in the back of my left tonsil or throat or whatever is right there. It felt like a piece of glass had gotten lodged and stuck and was cutting into the tissue. I went to the Navy ER as I am military. They took X-Rays and said they didn't see anything. I told them I still felt it. I was sent home. Well, the pain has gotten much worse. Still only on the left side and not associated with any cold like symptoms. I still feel an object irritating the area. I can barely speak now and as for eating, I have to keep everything on the right side. Any suggestions. I just know there has to be something there and I still remain certain it is glass.
Most commonly acute tonsillitis or acute inflammation causes such pain which need to take antibiotic. Otherwise it may be referred pain from other area like ear, tooth/gum, pyriform sinus etc......or even some case of globbus. just check from ent surgeon. Hope u will get well soon.
