What Causes Sinus Tachycardia And Atrial Abnormality?

i went to hospital after having chest pain, shortness of breath, numbness of both hands and dizziness
they did an ekg, xray, blood analysis, and echo in heart area. they told me everything is ok and that its because i had a flue 2 weeks ago. But when i check the ekg i saw that it says sinus tachycardia and left atrial abnormality. what does it mean?

Hello and thank you for using HCM. I carefully read your question and I understand your concern. Don't worry, its nothing serious.
The electrocardiogram is your heart electrical impulse registered in a paper. It is printed out with an interpretation by the machine according to what the machine can catch.
But I must inform you that the electrocardiogram should be interpreted just by the doctor, not the machine.
Even this, a sinus tachycardia means that your heart is beating over 100 beat for minute. Its normal rate in a steady condition is between 60-100 beat/minute. But it is quite normal for the heart to beat over 100 in a stressed, emotional situation or as you had experienced pain. So its nothing to worry about. The left atrial abnormality is just an electrical interpretation by the machine,an electrical manifestation according to your anatomic body structure variations. As your doctors has told you that every thing is ok, you should not worry.
Hope I was helpful. BEST REGARDS.
