What Causes Slow Fetal Growth?

Hi! I am an expectant grandmother. And I have been reading some on the importance of progesterone and delivering a much healthier baby. My daughter is about 25 weeks and she has off and on done some bleeding just to go to the doctor and their main concern is not the bleeding, but the size of the baby and whether its growing as it should. Im wondering if there may be a possible chance that her progesterone is low. Taking some form of it may help the baby grow and if it might help the bleeding as well. Does anyone have any thoughts about this.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Decreased fetal growth can be due to nutritional deficiency, decreased placental blood flow & there is no direct role of progesterone in fetal growth.
Some times bleeding can be due to low lying placenta.
So let her doctor to decide the plan of management & no need to get worried.
Take care
