What Causes Small Itchy Spots On The Inner Lower Arms And Around The Neck?
Hi I am 40 years old and have had chronic urticarial for 25 years for which I take 2x 10mg of cetirizine every day. Over the last year or so I get a few small very itchy spots on my inner lower arms and around my neck which only come a few days before my period. They last until I start menstruating and then go away again until the next month. Each small spot itches inceasantly for days. This is definitely different to the urticarial I have all year round. Are these spots hormone related and how can I treat them to stop the itching?
It may be prurigo simplex most probably. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would recommend you to take a short course of oral steroid in tapering dose. Continue to take antihistaminics but change like belastine 20 tab once a day. Apply mild steroid cream on the lesions.. Avoid the contact with triggering factors like cosmetic, soap, wool, grass, house dust...etc.
Hope this helps.
