I have had a small, pink flap of skin under the left side of my tongue for about 5 days now. It has a small white head on it but is quite painful to touch. It feels like a canker sore, but I ve never seen a canker sore attached to a flap of skin this way, so I m worried. Should I see a doctor, or can I just gargle with salt water and wait for it to disappear?
Hello, Continue To gargle with warm salt water. Avoid all irritants such as high acid and spicy foods, alcohol, and smoking. Plan on a soft and bland diet. Take some Antiinflammitory medication such as Tylenol and Advil. If this is due to trauma or viral in nature, time will allow to heal. if worsens or does not heal in seven to fourteen days see your dentist or doctor. Kerp well hydrated and take a balanced diet with proper vitamins. Thank you for your inquiry. I would not panic and continue to monitor the area.
