What Causes Stabbing Stomach Pain?

My daughter is having sharp stabbing pain on the left side of her stomach and shooting up into her back she recently was diagnosed with esophogeal cancer and the believe it started else where she is not getting any relief with pain meds and feels she s receiving no real help what do you think it could be ?

Thanks for your query.
Noted your histtowards ut your daughter hanging severe pain onlowe left side who has been Diagnosed as cancer esophagus. The pain radiates to the back.
All these things suggest towards left ureteric colic mostly due to a stone which in turn may be due to dehydration caused by cancer esophagus not allowing proper hydration.
I would advice her the following:
Ultrasound and tests of urine, blood and stool should help to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.
