What Causes Stomach Pain, Elevated Crp And Varying White Counts?

My 9 year old son has been feeling bad for a while. He has stomach pain, dehydration, elevated crp, normal sed, white counts that go up and down when he feels bad. He also has a positive rf factor of 17. He recently has a red sunburn patch on his shoulders at bed time that goes away by morning. Any thoughts?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
An elevated CRP (C-reactive protein) and positive RF factor (Rheumatoid factor) suggest chronic inflammation in the body.
A positive RF factor is seen in Rheumatoid arthritis and connective tissue diseases.
A sunburn like patch on the shoulders is suspicious of SLE (systemic lupus erythamatosus which is an autoimmune autoimmune disease.
SLE is a syndrome which affects multiple organ systems.
The stomach pain can be associated with this syndrome or could be unrelated to it.
Indigestion commonly leads to stomach pain.
Consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical examination.
Fluctuating white blood cell counts could be associated with recurrent infection.

I suggest you to get ANA levels (Anti nuclear antibodies) to confirm or rule out SLE after consulting your primary healthcare provider. ANA is done on blood sample.

Thanks and take care
