Hello,

Mesenteric Lymphadenitis may be result from viral infections such as rotavirus or norovirus. It may also result from bacterial infections such as salmonella, staphylococcus, or streptococcus. Gastroenteritis is often misnamed stomach flu.

Yersinia enterocolitica: This is the most common cause of mesenteric lymphadenitis in children. Other causes are tuberculosis, HIV, or lymphomas.

Please consult your treating doctor, he will examine and treat him accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
