What Causes Sudden Episode Of Seizures?

Hi,My name is Luisa, I live in Portugal an last week I have a seizure which they said was an epileptic attack. This had never happenned to me and I have always been pretty healthy except for constant migranes that I have had since I was about 13.. I don't remember anything about it and my big worry is what could have caused this and will it happen again. I am scared to go to sleep and cant rest. At the hospital (where I spent 4 days) they told me that I am not epileptic and that I simply have a "larger vain" in my brain. From what I read on my CT, I have a large cisterna magna in apparent comunication with the 4th ventricle. Amongst other things, this is what i can interpret. I have an appointment on monday with my family doctor, but my big worry is what could have caused this, and what can i do to prevent this from happening again. Another doubt of mine is can I think about falling preagnant anytime soon, or will my baby have problems as well?
Thank you!

Dear Luisa for your question, first i want to tell you that you should stop to be affarid because been affarid can result to another problem. like you said you will see your family doctor. i think he will help you out.
secondly an enlarged cisterna magna can also be seen in association with the Dandy-Walker malformation, which includes cystic dilatation of the fourth ventricle and hypoplasia of the cerebellar vermis. The Dandy-Walker malformation is believed to occur during embryogenesis. It can occur sporadically but has been associated with a number of genetic disorders and exposures, including alcohol, diabetes, warfarin, rubella, toxoplasmosis, and isoretinoin. An enlarged cisterna magna in the presence of a Dandy-Walker malformation has also been associated with chromosomal abnormalities such as trisomy 13 and 18.6, in the absence of other congenital, chromosomal, or structural abnormalities, is not well defined. I think you meet your family doctor and hear what he have to said and get back to us.
finally you also meet to see a gynecologist for further management and counseling.
