What Causes Sudden Pain In Neck And Shoulder In Hypertensive Person?

Hi Doc, Im 45 years old, female 125lbs, been diagnosed with hypertension 2 years ago. I am on Micardis Plus medication. Lately, I have been under alot of stress and this past week my left neck and shoulder have been experiencing a sharp pain. Last night during my sleep, the pain was so bad that it woke me up. I admit that I have been slack in taking my medication everyday. This happened once before and I went to the hospital. My bp that time was 171/103. they ran tests and gave me oxygen. I am concerned. Can you please advise me if I should consider going to the ER?

yes definitely, hypertensives are at risk of Coronary artery disease so better get yourself evaluated
