What Causes Sulphur Burps And Pain In Abdomen And Esophagus?

Hi, I am a 31 year old F, 175 lbs who recently gave birth 3 months ago, experiencing digestive problems. Usually 1-2 days per month I have this recurring condition in which I begin having what I've heard described as "sulphur burps" before bed only to awake around 2-3AM with horrendous abdominal pain located in the proximity of my bellybutton, followed by horrible flatulence, nausea (sometimes with vomiting) and diarrhea that lasts at least 24 hours. I'm down for the count while the symptoms persist but can usually get back to normal functioning by the next day. I had my gallbladder out 1.5 years ago and have done a stool test within the last two years that did not show any signs of blood. The only other symtom I have from time to time is a little pain in my esophagus, kind of like I have a brick in my chest or that I need to belch but cannot. I've had a doctor tell me it's just IBS but I still wonder. I have found that the stomach upset will generally be shortened by taking a couple tablespoons of all-natural apple cider vinegar. Any idea what could be causing this? We have a famiy history of colon cancer and I had an aunt who suffered with esophageal cancer brought on by GERD (which runs rampant in my family as well.)
