What Causes Swelling And Discharge From Ears?

My father is 68 and has past history of cellulitis and a -fib he is on several medications also has copd. He is very stubborn I feel he needs to go to er but he wont agree his ear is swollen and has discharge coming from it that he says burns his skin -the skin is red and swollen whenre it has drained. he cant hear out of it --I

Hi. Appears that he is having infection of the external ear canal skin . This causes swelling , pain , discharge involving the affected ear. cleaning the ear under op microscope, oral and topical antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs help. Please seek help from an ENT physician for ear examination and confirmation of diagnosis.
