Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
about six weeks ago my left ankle was swollen on the outside of my leg with like a golf ball protruding. I had no pain associated...just happened to look down and noticed it. I have had no injury and have done nothing out of the norm in my activity. Swelling goes up and down. I had it X-rayed and they found no injury to the bone. The swelling is getting worse and now hurts to walk up and down steps but not on flat ground. Not sure where to turn next.

What Causes Swelling In Left Ankle?
Hi, Get your MRI scan done, give hot fomentation, use ankle binder, take over the counter painkillers. Also, get your uric acid checked. Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
