What Causes Swelling On Side Of Neck Along With Stomach Issues?
Hi, I'm a 34 year old female and the left side of my neck (right above where my collarbone begins) swells to a golf ball size and is soft and tender as well as my chest on that side. I notice that when this happens I experience what feels like gas, bloating, and pain in my abdomen and lower back. This generally last for 1 full day. I wake up the next morning and it usually has gone down significantly along with the stomach issues. I was hospitalized for the neck swelling for 2 days and had a CT scan which showed inflamation in my neck and chest on that side. My CBC and blood cultures were normal. They gave me antibiotics (just in case) but this has happened on three other occations since I left the hospital. I do not have insurance at the moment and can't get in to see a doctor.
from what you describe it seems like a problem which needs thorough investigation. A ct scan with contrast should be done. it can be due to a possible viral/bacterial infection however other causes needs to be ruled out. i would advise you to see the physician again once the insurance is done.
Regards
