What Causes Tickling In Nostril And Runny Nose?

I am 60 years old. I do not have any allergies (have been tested in the past) to my knowledge. I have had a tickle in my left nostril for the last 48 hrs. Makes me want to sneeze. The left nostril is runny a little. Nothing from the right. Eyes are not red nor watery. No post nasal drip. Antihistamines dry me out too much to take. What is the problem and the answer.
