Hi i have been off the pill and trying for a baby since October just gone but no joy yet. I know it takes a while for the pill to come out of your system but i thought by now my periods would become more regular. I keep haveing iregular periods still. It has been 41 days since my last period (in february) and had some light spotting yesterday but by the afternoon there was no sign of my period starting. this happened last month as well. It took 46 days to get my period with spotting a few day before then nothing then i get my period so i am reluctant to do a pregnancy test yet. Is this normal?

Hello dear,I.understand your concern.In my opinion usually after stopping the pill regular ovulation might take upto 6 months and conception chances increase after 1-2 years.So avoid stress.But spotting before period suggests hormonal imbalance.In case if you are overweight or obese focus on weight reduction.Regular participation in intercourse increases the conception chances.The status of ovulation can be checked by serial ultrasound during the cycle from day 10- day 16 or 18.
