What Causes Varicose Veins?

I have a spider vein or varicose vein, and for the past 2 days if I am on my feet for a prolonged period of time, it starts hurting, and burning. Sometimes the pain will go up my leg. Tonight it started hurting and burning again and now it is warm to the touch, not on the vein directly, but above it. What could it be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
I welcome you to healthcare magic for your health concerns
I am Dr Fahim and I will be looking into your problem
I have gone through your question and understood you concern. I think you are misdiagnosing a condition affecting your leg as varicose veins are dilated, tortuous veins. Usually present on the medial (inner) aspect of the lower leg. If you press these veins it can be decompressed and milking it upwards empties it. If these signs and symptoms were there and now you are having pain and burning sensation over it then it might be complications of varicose veins. To me it appears to be some minor inflammation of the leg, which needs local application of steroid ointment along with over the counter pain killers like tab paracetamol 500mg thrice daily. However, you need to see a general surgeon to have a look at your leg and make a diagnosis on clinical examination.

I hope my answer will help. Do rate if you like it.
