Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My classmate collapsed during a baseball practice a month ago and it was said that he has Ventricular Fibrilation (not sure if spelling is correct) he was sedated for a few days, and he s been awake. he has been in the hospital well over a month now. I m just curious, he can t speak yet, he has a hard time moving, and i m really worried. whats going on?
Regarding your concern, I would explain that his symptoms could be related to brain hypoxia ( low blood flow perfusion to the brain) during the episode of ventricular fibrillation. For this reason, a long period of recovery is needed. A brain MRI is necessary too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
