What Causes Vomiting, Diarrhea And Loss Of Weight?

Mother is 68 years old has had serve vomiting and diarrhea for about a month. She has had a CT scan that came back normal, they found no problems with the colonoscopy. SHe has lost over 20 pounds in 30 days. the doctors are baffled. She does not smoke or drink and was very active before this started.

Passing of the stool 3 to 4 times in a day could be a normal one, only thing is it may not lose the water and cause dehydration. Such diarrhea could be due to long-term (chronic) infection and to confirm this better to get done the stool culture sensitivity test or at the most probiotic can be tried.
