What Causes Weakness In The Muscles With Diabetes?
Hello doctor I am suffering from DM since last 5-6 years and taking Glynase MF 1 BD. my fasting blood sugar remains between 100-120 (checking through gulocometer). Since last one to two years my muscles have become weaker specially thighs and upper arms. I regularly exercise (brisk walk for 45-60 mts). Are the weakened muscles due to use of Glynase MF or something else. My age is 48 (male) height 5 7 and weight is 75 Kg.
Due to diabetes there is always a possibility of muscle weakness. As the metabolism is disturbed at the muscular level. You need to go for slow and steady cardio exercises which can slowly built up your over all muscle endurance and give you good muscle strength. Medicine is only helping at the physiological level to maintain the level of sugar in the body. Don't worry, continue medicine and make some nice protocol for slow endurance and things should be fine.
Thank you Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
