What Causes Weight Gain And Food Cravings During Menopause?

Hi, for the last 2 years I have been using bio-identical cream to treat my symptoms from menopause. Last October, I was diagnosed with a low thyroid and take levothyroxine and pravastatin for high cholesterol. In the last 2 months I have these weird cravings, and have gained 10 lbs. I exercise a few times a week, and other that above, I am in good health. I have been doing some research and came across some information that could suggest that the pituitary gland in my brain tricked my body into thinking I am pregnant. Is this really possible? I have 4 children and cannot conceive so that's not the issue. My doctor said with the low thyroid, and these meds he prescribed should make my weight go down. It's done the opposite! I was wondering if you think I am taking too may hormones at once to make my body change so quickly? Thanks for any advice!
