What Causes Weight Gain, palpitations And Hair Loss?

had a vasular screening done and they found a nodule on my right thyroid, had ultrasound done 9x9x6 mm, doc sent me to ent, he looked at report and said oh let's check ultrasound in another two years, had a stroke 07 after back surg, had right hip replaced 3/10, then got vitiligo, now I am eating like a rabbit and gaining weight, dont sleep have heart palpitations, hair loss, cloudy urine, pain in left side/back. My dr ordered thryoid blodd test 6 months ago but didn't rerun them, I asked why I wasn't referred to an endocrinologist they gave no answer....after the vitilgo came up in reading about it, it is common to get diabetes or thyroid after that..............your thoughts?

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello and thank you for the query.
I have gone carefully through your concern.
The thyroid function is mandatory to be checked. The symptoms suggest for an alteration of the thyroid function.
Vitiligo is also an autoimmune disorder that is associated often with hypothyroidism or underactive thyroid.
The nodule diagnosed in ultrasound is small for the moment (under 1 cm) and if it doesn't show malignant characteristics in ultrasound, you should do an ultrasound after 1 year.

Hope the information is helpful.

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
