Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had amenorrhea for over a year now, and it could not be traced to anything during a clinical test, or dietetic recall, or a bone scan. I keep losing weight, but still perform on a high level in track and field. Could my body just think it's pregnant, or something?
Hello there, If you are training for track and field and you are taking any supplements which have uncertified components then they may have a virilizing(Masculinizing) effect on you and interfere with your hormonal cycles and cause amenorrhoea. You mentioned clinical tests so have you got a thyroid profile(t3,t4 and TSH) done and also to check serum levels of estrogen and testesterone.
Hope this helps, Dr Arun A
