I have a large lump on the back of my head. it is raw red and sore to touch. I have a massive headache. I went to Mass General on Saturday and his opinion was a infection. he gave me Bactrim Its been 4 days and is getting worse. I would appreciate your opinion..

Hi,
from history it seems that you might be having forming abscess giving you this problem.
Possibility of Carbuncle should be ruled out if you are diabetic.
If this antibiotic is not working your doctor will go for higher antibiotic medicine course and anti-inflammatory medicine.
If abscess is formed, it might require excision and pus drainage.
