What Could Be The Numbness In Fingertips And Cold Sensation?

Hello, I have numbness in my fingertips and a cold sensation in right side of body that comes and goes. I was just diagnosed with optic neuritis a few weeks ago. But I also have tmj and chilblains. could the cold sensation and numbness have anything to do with my optic neuritis? or could it be my tmj or chilblains?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I have read your query & realised your concern.
As I am answer according to your symptoms, without examination or looking at investigation reports I will tell you few possibilities & enable you for seeking help of proper person.
- You have been diagnosed to have optic neuritis. Common causes of this condition are diabetes, multiple sclerosis. Both of these conditions can cause affection of nerves of your right hand, leading to your symptoms of numbness/cold feeling.
- Other possibility is optic neuritis is separate entity & hand symptoms may be caused by cervical spondylosis/cervical spine.
I would advice you to consult a neurologist for his expert advice after physical assessment & investigations.
Thanks
