What Could Be The Reason Behind Pain After Endometrial Biopsy?
I had an endometrial biopsy and was in pain ever since. when i went to the gynecologist she had an ultrasound done and i was just diagnosed with fibroids. i never had them before, and never had any pain/bloating/cramping like this ever in my life until this biopsy. I had an ultrasound and MRI of my uterus 6 months prior to the biopsy that came back totally normal, no fibroids, nothing. Is it possible that a perforation and/or infection resulting from the biopsy could result in these fibroids? one of them is pedunculated/subserosal.. can this be a result of a puncture of the endometrium into the myometrium or through it? I've been in so much pain ever since this biopsy, I can't imagine there is no connection.
Hi, Welcome to HCM Reason of pain after endometrial biopsycould be that the biopsy forcep might have disturbed the pedunculated, subserosal fibroid, and may be slight bleeding started inside, and getting collected inside. Infection could also be the possibility. Endometrial biopsy definitely does not cause Fibroids. For which indication, you had an USG and MRI of Uterus 6 months back? I guess, it was because of Excessive or irregular bleeding. USG may not diagnose small uterine or cervical fibroid polyps. Pedunculated and subserosal fibroid itself can cause cramps like pain. it is better ypu go for surgical removal of these fibroids, and take symptomatic pain killer or antibiotics, if your doctor suspects infection as well.
