What Could Be The Reason For Feeling Pressure On My Tailbone?

I have this feeling of pressure (no pain really) on my tailbone for the last 4 years or so. It is always there. Sometimes the feeling is a little pressure and sometimes it feels like an elephant is sitting on it. It affects the way I walk when the pressure is severe.

I am 51 years old now. When I was 18 I fell through a loft and landed pretty hard on my tailbone. I just waited it out back then. (maybe related...)

Hello,
From your query, i understand that you are suffering from Chronic Coccydynia.
Initially follow these procedures to relieve pain.
1. Sit completely upright with proper posture - keeping your back firmly against the chair, knees level with your hips, feet flat on the floor and shoulders relaxed
2. Lean forward while sitting down
3. Sit on a doughnut-shaped pillow or wedge (V-shaped) cushion
4. Apply heat or ice to the affected area
5. Take over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen , ibuprofen or aspirin.

If the pain persists, You may need further examination and treatment.
The treatment ranging from simple physiotherapy to surgery.
Treatment may includes removal of coccyx.

Hope this helps.
