What Could Be The Reason For Having A Lump In Her Left Leg And Not Showing Up On X-ray Or An Ultrasound?
My 13-year-old daughter has a lump in her left leg to the left of her shin. It is soft. It has been there about a year. When I first noticed it it was only visible when she was standing and flexing. It is slowly growing. It is now visable without her flexing. A year ago when I first noticed it we took her to her pediatrician who ordered a xray. It showed nothing. Today we followed up with her pediatrician who ordered an ultrasound...... it also showed nothing. We are waiting to schedule a CT hopefully tomorrow. What could the lump be and why is it not showing up on x-ray or ultrasound?
I can understand your concern for the lump in your daughter's left leg and not showing up on X-ray or an ultrasound.
There can be possibility of either a sebaceous cyst or lipoma of small size. These are actually so small that these are not visible in the routine X-ray or sonography.
Any how the CT scan will take care of all your problems as it will delineate the exact depth and margins of the lesion on the area.
Do nto try to pinch or pop the area as can lead to secondary infection.
Your daughter will be alright soon. DO not worry.
Take care.
