What Could Be The Reason For Having A Rise In My Blood Pressure?

my blood pressure is 120's sometimes 130's over 70's.... as the day progresses by bed time my blood pressure rises to 180's over high 80's. recently it was 199 over 96. I went to ER,,,,they did ekg, blood work and could not find reason except the doctore said old age,,,,,,I am 72 , take no meds and in very good health otherwise.......what causes the BP to rise to those heights.

Hypertension can be:
1. Primary
2. Secondary.
If no cause has been found , it will be classified under primary.
At this age , primary hypertension is most common.
I advice you following :
1. Kidney Function Test
2. Lipid Profile
3. Urine RE
4. Xray Chest and ECG
5. Fundus (eye examination)
You should be started on treatment , if you wish to discuss that part too, please write to us.
