What Could Be The Reason For Having Hot Flashes After Going Through Menopause?

I am looking for an endocrinologist in Nassau Co., NY. my insurance will change as of 1/1/14 to NY State of Health--don t know the carrier yet--likely either UHC or Emblem, but I will probably have Medicaid at first, since I lost my job, which is why my ins. is going to change. why? I have gone thru menopause, am still hot all the time including hot flashes for years. also have elevated AIC with metformin. trying to take care of me but can t find an endo who takes Medicaid. can you answer here?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The hot flashes that you are having are a normal happening due to the hormonal changes in the body after menopause. The decrease in the feminine hormones causes these symptoms.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
