What Could Be The Reason For Having Pain In Upper Right Side Under Ribs After Eating?

I have been having horrible pains in my upper right side under my ribs and in my back within a few hours of eating. Doctor said kidneys, pancreas, liver and gall bladder look good and blood work is fine. The pain is horrible..after a few hours it will go away. What else could it be?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Based on the description, I suspect that the cause of your symptoms could be attributed to Gastric pathology either Gastric erosions or an Ulcer in the stomach.

As all other tests turned out to be normal, a diagnostic upper G.I. Endoscopy will help in diagnosing the underlying cause.

I suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist for further evaluation and management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
