Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic,
As per the description provided by you, the white oval spot is suggestive of an apthous ulcer. It is mainly due to trauma from sharp cusps that injure the tissue of your cheek while biting.
You can wait for a few days and it should disappear by itself. In the meantime you can apply Hexigel on the spot twice or thrice daily.
If the spot doesn't heal up in a week, I suggest you see a local dentist who will evaluate the spot and may ask you to get a biopsy done to ascertain a diagnosis.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

General & Family Physician Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan's  Response
Hello there,

This could be an aphthous ulcer (canker sore). It could either be due to mild trauma to the inner jaw while brushing your teeth OR mild laceration while eating potato chips with sharp edges OR accidental biting of inner cheek(with sharp canine teeth) OR due to dental braces. It could also be due to Vitamin B12 defeciency.

I would suggest that you rinse your mouth with saline gargles 3 times a day. Apply a small amount of anesthetic gel like Choline salicylate (DOLOGEL)3 times a day on the ulcer for 3 days. Take Vit B complex (BECOSULES) 1 capsule once a day.Practice good dental hygiene. Avoid spicy, hot food till the ulcer heals. It might take 3-5 days for a small aphthous ulcer to heal. If it persists beyond 5 days, please visit your dentist. Hope this helps . Have a nice day :)
