I have body numbness when i sleep. it started 3 years ago but only sometimes. I am now 48 and it has been happening a lot this month. I know I am perimenopausal and have had my hormones checked. I am on progesterone cream 40mg. and testosterone cream. I feel great all day long no loss of dexterity. just getting tired from waking up to move my body at night. it goes away as soon as i get out of bed.
In peri menopausal women the hormonal changes causes estrogen decline and hence impact the central nervous system. Thus, symptoms like weakness, numbness, pins and needle sensations, burning extremities etc., are caused by developing peripheral neuropathy.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Neurologist. Get Nerve conduction tests and biopsy done. Get treated at the earliest. In the meantime you can take vitamin B6, B12, vitamin E as a supplement.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
