What Could Cause Chronic Light Bleeding, Already Suffering From Irregular Cycles?

Hello, I have always had an abnormal period I first got my period when I was 15-16 years old. I would have my period one month and then I wouldn't have it again for 3 months or longer. I had my period one month ago and ever since then I have had blood in my underwear everyday and when I wipe. Do you know what could be the cause of this? Thank you

hello and welcome,

It is usual for the first few years after the first period for cycles to be irregular. However a hormonal imbalance or a cervical polyp may also cause similar symptoms.

So get an ultrasound and a hormone test and done to look for the cause. Most of the time a short course of progesterone or oral contraceptive pills helps correct hormonal imbalance.

Do not worry. These are common problems and are treatable.

Hope this satisfies your query.
