What Could Cause Severe Pain In Rib Cage After Martial Arts Training Session?

I'm an active 26year old, into combat sports(Mixed Martial Arts & Brazilian Ju Jitsu). Last week Wednesday while training, my sparring partner rib locked be twice and both the time I took a while to tapout(give up) I tried to come out of the painful lock but eventually gave up because I felt like my lungs will pop out. However since early Thursday I have been having mild pain on the upper left of my chest. I was assuming that the sessions have been to intense and therefore a lot of time my heart rate must have gone up and done and therefore this mild pain. I went to the gym on Thursday did the training although the pain was not mild any more I still continued. Once I finished and I reached home the pain was absolutely unbearable like a dagger piercing my Heart. I did a little reach on this matter and came to the conclusion that have slipped my rib so I went to the Doctors on Friday morning, they X-rayed me and every seemed to look Ok, the ECG was fine and I was told that it is just a cause of Trauma (I do get involved in a lot of wrestling and brawls in my gym as a part of training) I was given as injection of painkiller, may be with a blend of anti inflammatory and prescribed pain killers. The pain was not as bad till later Friday but in the night it worsened. I cannot still take a deep breath or Laugh or cough or sneeze or do any movement which gets motion in the traumatized area. Kindly advise if I can resume my training, will it worsen my condition, did I have a rib slippage but it went my to it place by unintentional movement and therefore not reflect in the x-ray, are theere any chance this will reoccur?

Looking forward to your reply.
