What Could Cause Severe Stomach Pain And Watery Stools After Surgery?

Hi I underwent surgery on Friday and was under general anaesthetic. On the Sunday morning after the surgery I received really bad stomach pains followed by watery stool. The pain was as of I could feel it moving through my stomach or intestines with an air bubble and then bad pain around my uterus/lower abdomen area. I had something similar to this last time I underwent surgery and was wondering if it was common? Thanks

Hi,

You have not mentioned what kind of surgery you had gone through, post surgical diarrhea is not likely but of course it may be due to antibiotic given it could be antibiotic induced diarrhea, once the course of drug overs it would be okay, second it could be due to infection in case of this it may requires medication, over all you have to wait for couple of days other wise it is not the common phenomenon,
