What Could Cause Weakness, Pressure In Head And Neck With On And Off Low BP?

Hi, I have episodes of severe weakness / fatigue. My blood pressure is normally 110/70 and during these episodes, my blood pressure drops to around 95/50 and pulse rate in the 50 s. I have severe pressure in my head when I lay down at night. I hear my heart beat in my ears and see flashes of light. When I get up in the morning, I have a bad throbbing crampy feeling in my right side of my neck going into my jaw and ear. I am 38 y/o female, 2 children, hx of prolactinoma and hyperprolactinemia. Prolactin levels = 1200 +/- Please help me find out what could be going on with the weakness, pressure in my head, neck etc. Thanks, Cynthia

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Cynthia
As you mentioned that you are having weakness, fatigue, low blood pressure , throbbing crampy feelings .
You are a known case of prolactinoma with hyperprolactinemia .
The normal level of prolactin in female is 0.-20 microgram/L( 1.9-25.9 ng/mL).
In your case level is 1200 + , very high i.e disease is not under control.
Prolactinoma develops few symptoms in female , these are INFERTILITY ( not in you ), loss of libido, dyspareunia , secondary amenorrhea with or without galavtorrhea.)Usually prolactinoma don't effect heart , so this is concerning in your case.
But the main point is your blood pressure and pulse rate ( 50 / minute ) . This is concerning and I recommend you visit a Cardiologist and get his opinion.
Fatigue, weakness, throbbing pain, and flashes of light may be due to low blood pressure .
So please consult a Cardiologist and get his opinion.
Hope this information will you.
