What Could It Be If One Doctor Is Saying There Is A Miscarriage And Abnormal Hormone Levels And The Other Doctor Is Saying That The Pregnancy Is Safe?
hi im pregnet but not sure how far yet as my period is quite irregular my hormone levels where checked and were 1900 one doctor told me they are a bit low and I might be having a miscarriage then I went and had a scan I went back and seen a different doctor she checked my scan results and said the sac is in the right place their is a pole and we must of thought I was more weeks pregnet than I am I told her the other doctor said I might be having a miscarriage she answerd I don't no why she would of told you that your hormone levels are fine and everything on the scan is fine she sent me for another blood test and booked me for a scan in 2 weeks she said im still in early stages of my first trimester yesterday the other doctor rang me and told me my hormone levels have dropped to1800 and I have had a miscarriage I have no cramps and no bleeding and am so confused im getting told two different things and I am so stressed I cant see a doctor until Tuesday does it sound like I have miscarriged to you much appreciate your advice

The pregnancy duration is calculated from the date of your last menstrual period where as ovulation occurs generally 2 weeks after period. So pregnancy actually occurs 2 weeks after the last period. as no body can tell when they have ovulated the doctors and ultrasound scan consider the last date of period for all practical purposes. what if you ovulated later. Then you may think say 7 weeks where as the baby is only 5 weeks as it was formed later. your second doctor is right in waiting for a scan after a week. Besides you are not bleeding. So no harm in waiting. I agree the waiting is nerve wrecking but then anxiety may worsen your condition. no doctor can tell whether they can be sure they will find a fetus in next scan as it is not in our control.
