What Could Lump On Hard Palate With Difficulty In Swallowing, Sore Throat Indicate?

Hello, I ve discovered a lump in my hard palate about one week ago. It s maybe 5mm diameter, pretty central, and I think not discolored, though it s kind of hard to see in the mirror. I was thinking Torus Palatinus, but it is accompanied by pain when I try to swallow, coughing and a generally very sore throat. If nothing changes in the next days, I m gonna see a dentist though it s kind of complicated because I m staying abroad in the next months. I just wanted an estimate by a doctor if it might be palate cancer ( I m a 19 year old male, don t use tobacco, consume alcohol socially on weekends, but not excessively ). Thanks! Tim

Hello, thank you for consulting with healthcaremagic.
The type of lump you are mentioning it can be torus palatinus but torus does not appears suddenly it can be possible that it may be growing in size you must have noticed it now.
If there is any trauma on the torus then it can be painful.
But still I think that you should visit a dentist who will take an x-ray an get a confirm diagnosis that weather it is a torus or an infected lesion.
