Hi! My dad reacted strongly to the Manteux test- turns out that the test was strongly positive. However, the PCR Non Respiratory test for Mycobaterium Turberculosis complex is negative. He's been having dry cough for some time now- though no other complaint. No weight loss, nothing. There are inflamed lymph nodes in the mediastine that on ultrasound guided endoscopic biopsy showed no malignant cells. What according to you, may be the problem? What other tests would you recommend in order for us to arrive at the right diagnosis?
I think, u should describe chest xray findings of your dad, if not done, pls do it. mt test strong positive means he had past infection or vaccination of t.b.or current infection of t.b.
if chest xray is inconclusive, then go for H.R.C.T of thorax. it Will solve your problem.
