i am 24 years old 5ft6in and weigh 135.i has strep throat almost 10 years ago and when it finally dissapeared after a week i noticed my throat had crater like holes. shortly there after i noticed a white spot so out of curiosity a pushed the sides and a thick smelly pus secreted out in almost a ball form. now for the past several years i have had them regularly. they even emerge from the craters that forned after strep was cured. it feels like something is stuck in my throat so i have been pushing the pus out and it always has a harsh smell. what are these strange stinky puss knots?
As an ENT specialist, I diagnose your condition as chronic tonsillitis or keratosis of tonsils. In case of tonsillitis, it is due to infection. There is appearance of cheesy like material on pressing them. Treatment is antibiotics.
In case of keratosis, it is due collection of food or plague in crypts of tonsils which releases cheesy like material on pressing them. Treatment is 2% betadine gargles.
Your past history of strep. Throat infection may not be related to it but I recommend you to visit your ENT specialist and get your throat examined and start treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
