What Could The White Stretchy Tissue That Comes Out When Scar Is Picked After Cyst Removal?

I recently had a cyst removed from upper chest. I have implants and when they stitched it up, I was lying flat. when I sat up, it felt a bit tight. that was about 6 weeks ago. I have a hard scratchy spot on the scar and the scar is really red. I pick at it and pull off hard white dead tissue??? I guess that is what it is. could it be a stitch left under the skin?

Hi,

The hard white dead tissue you pulled may be just the debris or remnants of blood and serum. So there is no need to worry. Just apply antibiotic cream. It may heal in few weeks. Do not touch or squeeze the scar.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel,
