I am 22W 6 days pregnant. At my 22 week ultrasound (Anomaly scan) doctor said no stomach bubble was visible, and the baby is confirmed a boy. but everything else looks perfect (kidneys, heart, bladder, etc). Doctor said there is another scan (Growth scan) if it is visible no problem. if not possibility of TOF need to be excluded after baby birth. What is the TOF? is it a major case? is it a major operation? what is the reason stomach bubble not visible? because my previous baby was perfect? Thanks for your kind advise.
Dear member Thanks for writing. The TOF means tracheo esophagus fistula or abnormal connection between the trachea and the esophagus or food pipe. Absent stomach bubble dosent mean no stomach but means that if TOF SEEN then the baby when it takes milk it will enter lungs of baby causing breathing difficulty. Hope fully in next scan it may be ok . Thanks Dr Bhagyashree
