What Do L3-4 Posterior Annulus Tear And Left Foraminal Disc Bulge Mean?
Trying to make sense of MRI findings: L3-4 posterior annulus tear, left foraminal disc bulge, degenerative spurring, mild left foraminal narrowing. L4-5 central disc herniation indenting thecal sac, disc desiccation and narrowing and spurring. Foraminal herniation on right with left facet arthropathy and moderate narrowing. L5-S1 broad shallow posterior and posterlateral disc bulge and spurring, bilateral facet arthropathy, moderate to severe foraminal narrowing both left and right!
welcome to Health care magic. 1.The disc which is seen in between the vertebrae has slipped and bulged backwards and causing pressure effect on the foramen - from which nerve passes through. 2.There is a tear noted in the disc at level L3-4. 3.And joints shows inflammatory reaction in the joint space - due to degenerative changes. 4.Even at L5-S1 shows disc bulge and compressing the nerve. 5.Annulus tear means - break in the disc lamellar area - peripherally. Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
