What Do Black Thread Like Things In Stool Indicate?
I am seeing black thread like things in my stool that are the size of a staple or 1/2 inch long. I've been on Cipro for 10 days & started seeing these Saturday. I've been having diarrhea also for 2 weeks & have been getting dehydrated (having the rapid heart rate & chills with no fever). Is this dead pinworms from the Cipro? I have been to the ER twice for dehydration symptoms & am waiting on my stool sample to be done. All of my blood work & urine test is normal.

I appreciate your concern, the thread like substance that you are seeing in your stool that must not be dead stool but the chances of fibber is very likely and this must be seen after having fibber containing diet, but still the stool examination is the final judgment, hope this information helps you have nice day.
